Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) grandfather of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) completed the divine religion whose candles were lit by Adam (peace be upon him), Noah (peace be upon him), Abraham (peace be upon him), David (peace be upon him), Moses (peace be upon him) and Jesus (peace be upon him). Abraham was born about 2,000 years ago in the Iraqi city of Ar. Abraham's father's name was Tarikh and his uncle's name was Azar. Azar was an idolater and made and sold wooden idols. People of Abraham's time also worshipped the sun, moon and stars. When Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) regained consciousness, he said to his uncle, "Uncle, why do you worship things which you neither hear nor see nor can you help me?" There is the knowledge that has not come to you. Obey me and I will show you the straight path. Uncle, don't worship Satan, he is disobedient to the Most Merciful. "

Abraham's uncle replied, "O Abraham! Are you turning away from my gods? If you do not desist, I will stone you. Get out of my sight forever." Abraham (peace be upon him) said to other members of his family, "You worship these idols which you make with your own hands." They replied, "We have seen our forefathers worshipping idols." Abraham (peace be upon him) refused to worship the sun, moon and stars because they would appear and set. In this way, he used his intellect. Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) kept on searching for the truth and Allah Almighty exalted him above prophethood and gave him "Hanif religion". There is divine instruction in the Holy Qur'an. (Translation, Meaning): "We sent Our Messengers with clear proofs. GOD sent down books on them and gave them balance so that the people may stand on justice. It has benefits for the people, so that Allah may know who obeys Allah and His messengers without seeing Him and His messengers.

And We [ALLAH] made him (Abraham) the leader. They guided to Our command, and We revealed to them that they should do good deeds.

Establish prayer and pay Zakat, and they were our worshipers.  The Prophets (peace be upon them) appeared for the sake of goodness and goodness. On one occasion, Allah Almighty said: [Translation and meaning)" Hazrat Ibrahim (as) was indeed very kind-hearted and kind".

In the Qur'an, the religion of Abraham is called Hanif.  Maulana Maududi (may Allah have mercy on him) translated " Hanif" as "Muslim Yakso"

 Nimrod: Who is your lord?

Abraham: My Lord is He Who gives life and causes death.

Nimrod: It is my attribute that I leave whomever I want alive and I  give death to whomever I want.

Abraham (AS): My Lord raises the sun from the east, so you show the sun raised from the west.
